Christ Our King Community Church Scholarship Fund Guidelines

The Christ Our King Community Church (COKCC) Scholarship Fund is dedicated to supporting students at COKCC in their pursuits of higher education. The belief that “every person can and will learn with the proper educational resources” is integral to this mission. The COKCC Scholarship Fund contributes to this
mission by awarding students with funds to help defray the cost of those resources.

The Mission of the Christ Our King Community Church Scholarship Program is to build a collaborative Christian network support to help improve the quality of education in our community.

The Vision of the Program is empowering college students in our church with educational resources.

The Purpose is to provide scholarships to deserving high school graduating seniors and returning college students at
either two-year or four-year educational institutions.

Criteria and eligibility (COKCC Scholarship Fund applicants)
1. Applicant must be a member of COKCC.
2. Applicant must be a graduating high school senior accepted to a College, University or a returning College Student.
3. Applicant must have at least a 3.0 grade point average.
4. Applicant must demonstrate community involvement.
5. Applicant must, while in college, be connected to a Christian church or Christian Organization. (i.e. CRU, Impact, InterVarsity or any CHRISTIAN organization)

General Instructions
1. DEADLINE for scholarship applications is April 30 (no exceptions).
2. Refer to application process below for a list of the supporting documents needed (i.e., reference forms, evidence of GPA, etc.) Incomplete applications will not be considered.
3. If any question does not apply to you in this application, please put N/A in the space.
4. Download a copy of the application online at cokcc.org.
5. You will be notified once your application has been received.
6. If you have any questions about the application, please contact the COKCC Scholarship Committee.

Application Process:
Applicant must submit the following items:
1. Completed application form (if handwritten, please print legibly)
2. Letter of application addressed to the Scholarship Committee. The letter should contain a brief
explanation about yourself and your college plans (college/university, intended major, and anticipated
start date). Letter should not exceed one (1) page.
3. Three (3) letters of recommendation from choice of high school/college teachers, administrators, counselors, employers, or individuals with significant knowledge of applicant’s experience and involvement.
4. An official and recent high school transcript or unofficial college transcript with cumulative grade point
average and a class standing/rank.
5. Personal Essay. Essay must be no more than 2 typed pages, double-spaced, 12 pt / Times New Roman
font. Essay shall contain no grammatical errors.

Deadline for the application is April 30, 5:00 p.m. Applications postmarked after this date will not be considered.
